Terms of service

These terms govern your purchase from The Salty Mare Farm ("we," "us"), operating from Polkton, North Carolina. By placing an order you agree to them.

Who can order

You must be 18 or older and have a valid payment method and a shipping address inside our delivery area.

Our products

We sell frozen, vacuum-sealed pork raised on our own farm and processed at a USDA-inspected facility.

Weights are approximate. These are whole cuts from real animals, not a manufactured product, so no two are identical. Where a listing gives a size tier (for example "up to 9 lb"), you pay the listed price for that tier whatever the exact weight comes in at. Pack weights shown are typical, not guaranteed to the ounce.

Availability is limited by the batch. We can only sell what a given group of animals produced. When a cut sells out it stays out until the next batch is ready. We don't backorder.

Prices and errors

Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice. If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price or with a clear description error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honor the mistake. We'll tell you if that happens.

Orders and payment

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we ship. We may refuse or cancel any order, including for suspected fraud or an address outside our delivery area, and we'll refund you in full if we do.

Shipping and delivery

See our Shipping Policy for where we ship, what it costs, and when boxes go out. Delivery timing depends on the carrier and isn't guaranteed. Bring your box inside the day it arrives.

Returns and refunds

See our Return and Refund Policy. Because we sell perishable food, we can't accept returns, but if a box arrives thawed, damaged or wrong we'll replace or refund it. Tell us within 7 days.

Handling and cooking

Keep the meat frozen until you're ready to use it, thaw it in the refrigerator, and cook it to a safe internal temperature. The USDA recommends 145°F with a 3-minute rest for whole pork cuts and 160°F for ground pork. Once a delivery is in your hands, how it's stored, thawed and cooked is up to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits any right you have that can't be waived under applicable law.

Your account and content

If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Don't use the site to do anything unlawful, or to scrape, copy or resell our content.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version posted when you place an order is the one that applies to it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Anson County, North Carolina.
